Regarding the Dragon*Con Game

We so far have ten pre-registrations for Lurking Fear Productions' Dragon*Con event. While this is great news for us, I know a couple of people who have played with us before read this journal and may be planning to play again this year. Thus, I wanted to let you know that there is a very good possibility we will fill up. There are currently only 25 character slots remaining, so if you are planning to play and have not pre-registered, you might want to go ahead and do so. Or, since there are only three or so days left to pre-register, you might want to get to the LFP booth early during the convention to reserve a slot.

Not trying to incite a panic, but I wanted to make sure that those people who have played with us before get a chance to do so again this year. I'd hate to have to turn anyone away who has been a loyal player in the past, but due to the size of the space we'll be playing in, the number of staff we have, and the way the plot is structured, we really do need to cap at 35 players.

Lurking Fear Productions Presents
Gods of Forbidden Light

Join Lurking Fear Productions in an event of live action horror based upon the works of H.P. Lovecraft and created exclusively for Dragon*Con members:

It is the evening of December 29th, 1941 and the height of the Blitz. Much of London has been evacuated, but there are still a few remaining citizens fleeing from the German onslaught. You are one among a group of evacuees, escaping by train to Bath while German bombs shower down upon you and the city of London burns in the distance.

Before you and the other evacuees can make your escape, however, a bomb destroys a portion of the tracks, leaving you stranded. Until the tracks can be repaired, you are taken to a crumbling sanitarium, known as Fellwood, to wait out the raid. Most of the patients and staff of Fellwood have been evacuated, but a few remain because they either refuse to leave or they have nowhere else to go.

Now you and the other evacuees, staff and patients of Fellwood are forced to wait out the bombing of London within the sanitarium’s walls while the very fabric of reality shifts and warps. It seems one of the evacuees isn’t everything he claims to be, and his occult past may be tied to the future of Britain, the war, and the world itself.

A Lurking Fear Productions Event

It is the evening of December 29th, 1941 and the height of the Blitz. Much of London has been evacuated, but there are still a few remaining citizens fleeing from the German onslaught. Our game is set among one of these groups of evacuees, traveling by train to Bath while the city of London burns in the distance.

Before the evacuees can make their escape, a bomb destroys a portion of the tracks, making further travel by train impossible. Until the tracks can be repaired, the evacuees are taken to an old sanitarium called Fellwood, just outside of London, to wait out the raid. Most of the patients and staff of Fellwood have been evacuated, but a few remain because they either refuse to leave or have nowhere else to go.

The evacuees, staff and patients are forced to wait out the bombing of London within the sanitarium’s walls while the very fabric of reality shifts and warps. Website Updated....

The Lurking Fear Productions Website has been updated with a great deal of new content. A firm date and location has been nailed down for our wild-west event, The Secret of Forgotten Gorge: February 23rd - 25th, 2007 at Cloudland Canyon State Park's group lodge. Pre-registration for this event will become available in December of 2006. Also, the resources page has been updated with the Wikipedia entry on the year 1876, and player testimonial and an extensive Song of the Abyss writeup by Keith Earley.

We are also starting recruitment for NPCs and staff for The Secret of Forgotten Gorge. This event will require a few more NPCs than we've had in the past so if you or anyone you know is interested in helping out, please let me know. Also, because we so desperately need NPCs, I'm offering a discount on the event following The Secret of Forgotten Gorge for anyone who NPCs full-time.

Updated Rules System....

The newest version of the Chaotic Fluidity rules system is available for free download on the Lurking Fear Productions website. There have been a number of changes, so I'd appreciate everyone looking over the updated rules and responding here with any questions or suggestions. I'm currently working on a pamphlet-style rulebook with smaller text that will use less paper and fit neatly into a character packet. I'll keep you updated as to when those are complete.
